Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer SME to support USTRANSCOM under the USTC MITS contract. The role covers hands-on cloud architecture, migration planning, security policy implementation, and DoD-compliant cloud service delivery for IL5/IL6 environments, JWCC, and on-prem enclaves.

Expect senior technical guidance and collaboration with TCJ6. Candidates should have extensive AWS experience, including GovCloud, and strong scripting and IaC skills (JSON/YAML, Terraform, CloudFormation).

Qualifications

• Expertise designing, building, and operating AWS-based cloud solutions.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud and secure cloud architectures.
• Ability to communicate with clients and translate requirements into cloud deliverables.
• Proficiency in JSON and YAML for infrastructure as code.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash for automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on development and implementation of cloud solution architectures with focus on security, scalability, and resiliency.
• Plan and manage migration and operation of IL5/IL6 cloud environments for JWCC and on-prem enclaves.
• Define and implement security processes to support platform transformation.
• Ensure cloud offerings comply with DoD cloud policies and guidelines.
• Develop testing for cloud and virtualization systems and report on findings.
• Maintain knowledge of cloud/virtualization technologies and deployment models.
