Job summary

Mount Auburn Hospital seeks a Director of Quality & Patient Safety to lead quality and patient safety initiatives across hospital and MAPS ambulatory practices. You'll design, implement and monitor safety programs, mentor a team, and drive regulatory readiness and performance improvements to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent clinical experience.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Care related field, or Hospital Administration preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory or management experience required.
• Working knowledge of healthcare quality and patient safety management, data sets and databases, benchmarking, outcome measurement.
• Certification preferred in CPHQ, CPPS or other quality/safety certs.
• Experience in statistical analysis and current quality improvement tools; Excel proficiency.
• CMS, DPH and MassHealth reporting requirements knowledge.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and oversees a comprehensive clinical patient safety program to improve safety for patients, visitors and staff.
• Collaborates with senior leadership to achieve quality outcomes and programmatic goals.
• Develops annual PI Plan, Work Plan and goals with regulatory and performance improvement leads.
• Leads quality and safety strategies across clinical and administrative leadership.
• Oversees safety event reporting, staff education, online reporting system, and sentinel event investigations.
• Manages data reporting, audits, validation and external benchmarking submissions.
• Co-leads external agency surveys (TJC, CMS, DPH) and drives learning from incidents.
