Job summary

Qualifications

• Five to eight years of consumer loan underwriting experience, including team management.
• Bachelor's degree or industry certifications considered equal to a degree.
• Experience ensuring compliance with state/federal laws and credit union policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the consumer underwriting department daily, manage workflow and staffing.
• Act as executive-level underwriter for complex or high-risk requests.
• Coach staff, set performance metrics, and monitor quality and training needs.
• Monitor policy adherence, risk, and regulatory compliance across the unit.
• Liaise between underwriting and lending channels, provide training as needed.
