Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is hiring an Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Manager (Commercial) inSan Francisco, CA. You will analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate closing of major loans, ensuring compliance with lending policies.

Work closely with the VP, Commercial Banker to monitor credit risks and achieve bank goals. You will interface with clients, gather financial information for loan requests, and coordinate loan processing while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, and pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients to assess credit needs and determine the best structure and items needed for analysis.
• Gather and analyze information to present a financing request for approval.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans and ensure compliance with lending policies and customer needs.
• Reinforce superior customer service through example and follow-through with customers and staff.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management and related tasks for new loans and existing portfolios.
