Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an experienced Design Verification Engineer to apply DO-254 DAL-A verification methods to airborne digital hardware and ASIC/FPGA/SoPC projects.

You will develop verification plans, build constrained-random environments using SystemVerilog/UVM, and collaborate with design, systems, and certification teams to drive coverage and testability from concept through certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced degree.
• Experience building testbenches and verification environments in SystemVerilog, VHDL, and/or Verilog.
• Hands-on experience with verification and simulation tools (Questasim, Vivado, Libero, Synplify Pro).
• Understanding of digital interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, I2C, ARINC429, CAN, etc.).
• Experience verifying timing behavior, device timing constraints, and clock domain crossings.
• Experience with Python, Perl, Linux shell, or C/C++.
• Ability to work independently and with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop verification plans based on requirements capture and traceability.
• Architect and implement constrained-random and directed verification environments (UVM/SystemVerilog).
• Create, develop, and maintain testbenches, sequences, and coverage models.
• Perform ASIC/FPGA/SoPC verification using simulation, inspection, analysis, and hardware test methods.
• Conduct functional, code, and assertion coverage analysis and drive closure.
• Apply linting, CDC analysis, LEC, assertions, and regression automation.
• Collaborate with design teams to review architecture, interfaces, and RTL for testability.
• Generate DO-254 DAL-A verification artifacts and support certification activities.
