Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced avionics engineer based in the United States to lead design, requirements development, and on-site testing for Integrated Modular Avionics systems. You will collaborate across engineering teams, develop test scripts, and present PDR/CDR packages to OEMs.

The role emphasizes ownership of work, regulatory compliance, and the ability to execute flight test scenarios to validate system performance in lab and airborne contexts.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Hands-on Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) experience at the system level.
• Strong understanding of avionics, aircraft systems and subsystems.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team and take ownership of work.

Responsibilities

• Complete design and requirement development work.
• On-site testing and script development for robustness and scenario testing.
• Troubleshoot issues across development cycles and report status to OEMs as needed.
• Develop and execute flight test scenarios to validate system performance.
• Produce PDR/CDR packages and system certification documentation.
• Integrate SW/HW work packages and coordinate across subsystems.
• Estimate and bid engineering efforts and provide program status updates.
• Ensure traceability and regulatory compliance across development lifecycle.
