Job summary

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support next-generation avionics computing technology, focusing on SoC platforms and hardware/software integration. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to capture requirements, verify system functionality, and ensure safety-critical compliance.

The role is primarily onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA, with limited remote consideration for exceptional candidates and relocation assistance possible. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM field; 8+ years of experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience with hardware/software integration for embedded avionics or similar complex systems.
• Strong requirements capture, validation, and traceability experience.

Responsibilities

• Capture, develop, and maintain system requirements, designs, test cases, and procedures per ARP4754B objectives.
• Support board- and device-level systems engineering for SoC and embedded avionics applications.
• Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, and FPGA teams to support integration and verification.
• Define and validate high-level hardware and software-allocated requirements.
• Integrate, validate, and verify embedded hardware/software functionality in lab environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and artifacts using Jama, Jira, and Git.
• Assist in developing use cases, concepts of operation, and system-level solutions.
