Job summary

Moog Avionics in Mineral Wells, TX seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate software for avionics and flight control systems. You will lead innovation software solutions, set technical standards, and guide large-scale engineering projects on site.

Responsibilities include developing software, requirements, testing tools, and providing guidance to junior engineers, with a focus on DO-178B/C processes and system integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degrees.
• Minimum of five years’ technical engineering professional experience and expert in product requirements.
• Knowledge of Design and Development processes and industry practices and standards.
• Expert knowledge of design tools: Altium, Pads, SolidWorks, C, Matlab or similar tools.
• Experience with DO-178B/C software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the completion of programs and projects focusing on software for avionics and flight control systems.
• Develop software for advanced avionics and flight control systems.
• Develop system/software requirements.
• Develop new testing applications or modify existing tools to support integration activities.
• Perform software/system integration activities to verify proper functionality of new designs.
• Create technical documentation.
• Fabricate and debug prototype software or electrical, mechanical, and/or RF hardware.
• System and subsystem analysis and requirements specification.
• System and subsystem modeling and performance analysis.
• Certification project support: TSO and STC projects.
• Test and debug prototype electrical, mechanical, and/or RF hardware.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to lower-level engineers.
