Job summary

Collins Aerospace’s Senior Software Engineer role in Cedar Rapids IA focuses on avionics software for mission sensors, weapons, and IFF systems. You will translate requirements into robust software, build automated tests in Python, and maintain Ada/C code across lab environments.

The position requires STEM education with several years of experience in Agile teams, and familiarity with DOORS/JIRA/EA tools. Onsite work in Cedar Rapids is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in Agile development teams and translating system requirements into software solutions.
• Proficiency in Python testing and in Ada/C development.
• Experience with DOORS, JIRA or similar engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Support software engineering activities in an Agile environment, translating system requirements into software and verification strategies.
• Develop automated test scripts in Python and validate software functionality and performance.
• Maintain and update software products using Ada/C and verify builds in lab environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
