Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering to design and implement software and hardware build procedures for aerospace products. You will develop control and diagnostic software, collaborate with design teams, and ensure compliance with avionics standards.

The role requires 3+ years in Embedded C/C++ and 3+ years in Avionics/Navigation systems, with DO-178C experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5 years of progressive software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Avionics Systems.
• 3+ years of experience with DO-178C.
• 3+ years of Embedded Software development in C/C++.
• 3+ years of experience with Navigation Systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development and use.
• Develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
• Collaborate with equipment designers to plan, design, develop and utilize electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Analyze system capabilities to determine end-user needs and resolve program input/output requirements.
• Innovate and implement technologies to ensure compliance with specifications and customer guarantees.
• Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
• Capture and protect novel ideas using IP processes and tools.
