Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Manager, Avionics & Power Systems to lead a world-class team responsible for avionics and power subsystems on our next-generation space stations and satellite programs.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Avionics Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test and requires 8+ years in aerospace avionics with strong systems engineering and leadership experience. This is a full-time, on-site position in Long Beach, CA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of post bachelor’s experience working with aerospace avionics systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing cross functional teams developing a product with complexity in operations and design.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage a team of avionics and power systems engineers.
• Negotiate requirements and drive system-level architecture trades to closure.
• Develop and own the fault management strategy for avionics and power subsystems.
• Lead cross-functional teams to capture operating modes and verification needs.
• Own ICDs and configuration control across the vehicle.
• Define and own verification campaigns and ensure timely execution.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in Systems Engineering.
