Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Principal Avionics Lead in the AE​GS Department. Lead multidisciplinary teams through design, integration, and test of electronic systems for defense products.

This role requires extensive experience in analog, digital, and power electronics, plus active DoD Secret clearance. Responsibilities include technical and cost execution, TDP development, and transitioning designs to production.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
• Ten years of experience in subassembly design, integration, and production support.
• Experience in electrical sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, and CCA design.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical, cost, and schedule execution.
• Technical integrity of electronics, including TDP development, validation, and TE integration.
• Manage costs and schedule for design, verification, and hardware procurement.
• Manage technical risk for electronics.
• Oversight of failure investigations.
• Support component level design and test reviews.
• Work environment primarily office with labs or field work as needed.
• Guide team through hardware lifecycle phases and architecture development.
• Transition to production and early production units.
• Mentor and be mentored within a Raytheon culture.
• Collaborate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers.
