Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the electrical harness definition, selection, validation, and qualification for spaceflight systems. This hands-on role covers design, fabrication, installation, and testing to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight operations.

The engineer will focus on harness components within JARVID and Windchill, review drawings for manufacturability, and drive qualification activities while supporting cost and schedule improvements.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience with Electrical Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Liaison Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer or test engineer.
  • Experience with high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing.
  • 5+ years of experience in harness fabrication and installation processes.
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve engineering drawings based on their manufacturability and adherence to internal and industry standards.
  • Coordinate the selection of components for electrical harness assemblies.
  • Coordinate the qualification of all components part of harness assemblies.
  • Support and coordinate feedback from harness manufacturing suppliers/sites and installation sites.
  • Coordinate any required harness testing.
  • Maintain the JARVID database and Windchill standard part library.
  • Provide impact assessments for change incorporation and support design configuration development and trade studies.
