Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking a senior Harness Design Engineer to lead the electrical harness design for a Mk1 vehicle module. You will develop wiring interconnect diagrams, harness assembly and installation drawings, and create 3D harness data.
You will mentor junior engineers and support design decisions through CAD-based analysis and trade studies. The role requires 10+ years in aerospace wiring harness design, proficiency with Creo/Zuken/Windchill or similar tools, and a strong grasp of
Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience designing wire harnesses for aerospace.
- Familiarity with Creo, Zuken or Windchill or similar CAD routing software (NX/UG/Catia).
- Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
- Knowledge of harness design standards IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4, SAE AS50881.
- Strong 3-D CAD design and integration skills.
- Design for manufacturability experience.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical harnesses for power, RF, and high-speed data.
- Select harness components and hardware.
- Create Wiring diagrams using CAD tools.
- Produce 3D routed harness data in Creo Cabling.
- Create harness drawings and installation plans.
- Design harness supports and integration points.
- Support design trades and feasibility studies.
- Mentor junior harness engineers.
- Oversee hardware installation and testing.
