Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state is seeking an experienced Avionics Hardware Engineer to develop thoughtful avionics/control hardware and implement test strategies for power subsystem assemblies. The role involves cross‑functional collaboration across power design, firmware, software, and systems teams.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years in electrical engineering with hardware test, validation, and circuit design.
  • Experience with high‑voltage test methods and safety considerations.
  • Experience with automated test scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of power systems hardware: DC/DC, power sequencing, and power integrity.
  • Familiarity with RS422/RS485/SPI/LVDS interfaces and mixed‑signal design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies and fixtures for power subsystem hardware.
  • Create test cards, breakout boards, and fixtures for validation.
  • Lead validation campaigns including TVAC and acceptance tests.
  • Ensure data collection and requirement verification.
  • Develop automated test scripts for EGSE and power sequencing.
  • Troubleshoot failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate interfacing subsystems with the power subsystem.
  • Support FMECA and design-for-test activities.
