Job summary

Inversion, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own hardware from concept to test for next-generation re-entry vehicles. You will design mixed-signal, embedded, and RF-adjacent hardware within the Avionics team, from schematic capture to deployment.

This role is based in Playa Vista, CA, requiring on-site presence and a 5+ year track record in high-reliability hardware. Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mixed-signal, embedded, or avionics hardware in high-reliability environments.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and hardware integration.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and support electrical architectures for flight and ground systems.
• Develop schematics, wiring approaches, and electrical documentation for mixed-signal hardware.
• Lead PCB development, component selection, bring-up, and design reviews.
• Integrate SDR-based systems including power, clocking, data interfaces, and RF interconnects.
• Coordinate with mechanical, RF, software, firmware, and systems teams on interfaces and packaging.
• Document decisions, analysis results, test findings, and corrective actions.
