Job summary

Inversion seeks a Senior Antenna Engineer to lead the design, analysis, integration, and validation of antenna systems for its next-generation re-entry vehicles, working within the Avionics team to translate system constraints into robust antenna solutions.

Based in Playa Vista, CA, you will collaborate with RF, electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and systems teams, oversee prototyping and testing, and contribute to mission-ready hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with RF/EM focus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in antenna design, EM simulation, and antenna integration.
  • Proficiency with antenna modeling and electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, or similar.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance up to Top Secret.
  • Experience with antenna prototyping methods and fabrication approaches.
  • Knowledge of aperture antennas, impedance matching, and polarization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead antenna design, simulation, and placement activities for flight and ground communication systems.
  • Capture antenna requirements and perform EM simulation and analysis to meet system needs.
  • Develop concepts and trade studies across gain, bandwidth, efficiency, polarization, and placement.
  • Model RF performance and plan prototyping, tuning, and validation activities.
  • Coordinate with RF, electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and systems teams.
