Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Component Engineer to excel in EEE components for high‑reliability avionics. You will influence testing standards, derating, and qualification while collaborating with engineers, program managers, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes leadership in component selection and procurement support, with a focus on quality and safe spaceflight. Travel to supplier locations across the U.S. may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years hands-on component and parts management experience in avionics.
  • Ability to assess BOMs against approved vendor lists and standards.
  • Experience in design, manufacturing, quality, or reliability capacity.
  • Experience leading part advisories (GIDEP, ECIA).
  • Willing to travel in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize PLM features to track component approval lifecycle.
  • Lead program-wide component level assessment and evaluation.
  • Support sustaining engineering and obsolescence management.
  • Develop component-level requirements with the responsible engineer.
  • Create value-added screening and qualification approaches.
  • Ensure compliance to EEE component requirements.
  • Lead sustainment and PCN/GIDEP management.
