Job summary

TYLin is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Aviation (Terminal Design) to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex airport terminal projects for major aviation programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized aviation practice.

The successful candidate will coordinate architects, engineers, planners, and stakeholders, ensuring design excellence, passenger experience, and alignment with budget and schedule while working in active airport environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience managing airport terminal design projects.
• Experience delivering major terminal projects at commercial airports in the United States or internationally.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on complex aviation projects.
• Strong understanding of airport terminal planning, passenger processing, and operational requirements.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, tenants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design delivery of major airport terminal projects, including new construction, renovations, expansions, and modernization programs.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams including architects, engineers, planners, interior designers, aviation specialists, and specialty consultants.
• Serve as the primary project interface with airport owners, airlines, tenants, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate all phases of terminal design, including programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing plans, and delivery strategies.
• Facilitate design coordination meetings and ensure alignment between architectural, engineering, operational, and stakeholder requirements.
• Guide teams through design challenges related to passenger flow, security, baggage handling, concessions, accessibility, and airport operations.
• Review and manage design deliverables, technical submissions, and quality assurance processes.
• Coordinate with construction teams to support constructability reviews, phasing strategies, and implementation planning.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain design quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, project reports, and client communications.
• Mentor junior project managers and contribute to TYLin’s Aviation practice.
