Job summary

Iridium seeks an Aireon Operations Specialist III to bring aviation operations expertise to system design, incident response, and service delivery. You will bridge NOC, engineering, and product teams, ensuring operational fitness for air traffic controllers, airlines, and ANSPs who rely on our network.

You will investigate service interruptions, translate findings into actionable customer impact assessments, and support product integration and safety analyses in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or recognized aviation qualification (air traffic control, dispatcher, pilot) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of operational experience in a heavily regulated aviation environment.
• Knowledge of international aviation standards and recommended practices.
• Hands-on experience with aviation safety and quality management within an integrated management system.

Responsibilities

• Guide Aireon service delivery with an operational perspective on performance, customer impacts, and events.
• Compile and review system service logs to identify interruptions and outages for customers.
• Initiate investigations, prepare interim and final reports for stakeholders and customers.
• Translate complex technical information into clear operational conclusions for engineers and product teams.
• Collaborate with Product Development to create procedures for new products.
• Coordinate with operations to integrate new product support into daily activities and escalation paths.
• Provide program management support for Aireon 3.0 safety and service requirements.
