Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Service Desk Technician to support Aireon’s global surveillance network in McLean, VA. This entry‑level role involves monitoring, logging events, and escalating issues per established guidelines.

Initial and ongoing training are provided; duties include incident triage, basic troubleshooting, and collaboration with senior technicians to maintain service reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree and/or 2+ years of related experience in operations, network or technical support.
• Strong communication skills to convey messages clearly and effectively.
• Ability to multitask, stay accurate, and respond to guidance from teammates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network devices, system status, and performance metrics using dashboards and tools.
• Log routine activity and system events per defined procedures.
• Document maintenance activity and incident details under guidance from senior staff.
• Monitor alerts and escalate per documented procedures.
• Follow plans, checklists, and processes for daily tasks.
• Record activity related to scheduled tasks and incidents.
• Perform initial incident triage and basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues.
