Job summary

Tucson Airport Authority seeks an experienced General Counsel to lead the Legal Department from Tucson, AZ. The role advises executive leadership, oversees contracts and governance, and ensures regulatory compliance.

You will supervise staff, negotiate complex leases and agreements for airport property, provide strategic legal guidance to the Board and EVP/GC, and respond to emergencies under ICS/NIMS protocols.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Arizona Bar admission in good standing.
• Eight or more years of experience in business, contracts, transactional, regulatory, public and/or real estate law, preferably for a public entity.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and FAA regulatory issues (FAR Parts 77/139, TSA 1542).
• Strong oral and written communication; negotiation and drafting of governance documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Legal Department, setting priorities and providing training as needed.
• Provide legal advice and support to EVP/GC and management on a wide range of issues.
• Draft, negotiate, and review complex contracts and leases for airport property and facilities.
• Advise on corporate governance, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with the Board and advisory councils; respond to emergencies per ICS/NIMS protocols.
