Job summary

Waveguide seeks a Lead Technology Advocate for IL to oversee the daily operation and support of AV and videoconference systems for executive and educational meetings in a fast-paced conference center. You will coordinate testing, maintenance, and asset management while guiding end users on presentation technologies.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence with strong communication skills, CTS certification, and collaboration with internal/external staff to ensure event success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years audiovisual technology management experience.
• 3–5 years AV and presentation technologies experience.
• 3–5 years customer service experience.
• Thorough working knowledge of AV and videoconferencing technology.
• Strong customer service and communications skills.
• MS Office: Word, Excel, Lync, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to coordinate with internal/external staff for meetings/events.
• Understanding of general business procedures.
• Experience in fast-paced university/conference center environments.
• Self-motivated independent thinker.
• CTS certification by InfoComm.
• Industry training or technical courses a plus.
• Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting, security).

Responsibilities

• Oversees testing, maintenance, asset management, operation, and tear down of AV and VTC equipment.
• Provides best effort assistance to fulfil AV technical requirements.
• Produces a monthly room usage report with action items and schedules.
• Maintains trouble tickets, issue resolution logs, and asset management.
• Manages videoconference support including setup, training, troubleshooting, and escalation.
• Consults and educates end users on presentation technologies.
• Troubleshoots AV and videoconferencing technology.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance checks.
• Escalates issues to appropriate departments.
• Keeps current on presentation technologies.
