Job summary

UNICOM Government, Inc. is seeking an Electronics Technician II in Greensboro, NC to install, maintain and repair high-end AV/IP/Unified Communications systems. You will perform site surveys, develop job plans, and supervise technicians as needed to meet project goals.

Qualifications include an Associate’s degree or related certification, 3–5 years in AV/IP/UC, CTS/CTS-I, strong LAN and safety knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 75%. U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of AV/IP/Unified Communications experience.
• Must know LAN topologies (Ethernet) and ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards.
• Must know ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-A, 569-A, 606, 607, and NEC.
• Ability to train, direct and mentor other technicians.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting capability.
• Avixa CTS and/or CTS-I certification is required.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain security clearance (SECRET or TOP SECRET).

Responsibilities

• Perform Site Surveys using blueprints and floor plans.
• Develop Job Plans with materials, schedules, and crews.
• Install and retrofit AV equipment, cabling, and grounding.
• Conduct testing: electrical, network, and AV systems.
• Ensure safety compliance per OSHA and standards.
• Document results and maintain as-builts.
• Provide supervision to junior technicians as needed.
