Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Lead Audio Visual Technician to manage AV needs for events across Student Unions. The role reports to the Assistant Director, Event Production and collaborates with two other full-time technicians, student managers, and student staff.

Responsibilities include meeting clients, overseeing equipment delivery and operation, and assisting with staff hiring, training and inventory management. The position is hybrid with on-campus and remote elements.

Qualifications

• Experience with a wide range of AV equipment.
• Proficient in live audio mixing.
• Experience scheduling or supervising student staff.
• Ability to install and maintain AV equipment and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to determine technical needs for events.
• Oversee setup and operation of AV equipment and staff.
• Hire, train and supervise student employees for events.
• Maintain equipment inventory and ensure reliability during events.
