Job summary

National Capitol Contracting LLC is seeking an Audio-Visual Systems Engineer SME in Alexandria, VA to lead the technical roadmap for VTC, digital signage, and hybrid collaboration environments across the USPTO enterprise.

You will architect conference room configurations, coordinate with IT and Security, and drive AV-over-IP integration using Crestron, Extron, and Cisco/Webex/Zoom platforms. This role requires strong Ethernet, AD, and MTR expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience with enterprise AV systems, security controls, and networked collaboration environments.
• Strong knowledge of AV, VTC, and UC platforms across hybrid workspaces.

Responsibilities

• Architect, standardize, and maintain blueprints for USPTO conference rooms and hybrid spaces.
• Engineer AV interfaces with IT infrastructure; design QoS mappings for AV-over-IP delivery.
• Ensure AV/VTC endpoint firmware and UC apps comply with security guidelines (NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs).
• Diagnose and resolve complex AV/VTC failures across Tier 1-3 teams.
• Lead investigations and implement enterprise-wide remediation for outages or bugs.
• Maintain onsite engineering lab to test firmware, patches, and new hardware.
• Review and optimize control programming for seamless user interfaces across spaces.
• Manage multi-phase infrastructure milestones using Microsoft Project.
