General Motors is seeking an experienced System Engineer to support the design, procurement, and configuration of hardware for prototype and test fleets in advanced ADAS development. You will ensure correct component selection, design revisions, and alignment with AV architecture across builds.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with CAD, perception, and software teams to meet manufacturability and integration goals for next-generation vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in system design, fabrication, and build execution.

Responsibilities

• Support component design and fabrication, including sheet metal, aluminum, composites, and advanced 3D-printed parts.
• Develop CAD models for brackets, mounts, and housings to support sensors, ECUs, and harnesses.
• Maintain system configuration baselines, interface definitions, and integration requirements for vehicle builds.
• Translate evolving AV architecture needs into actionable build requirements, dependencies, and timing constraints.
• Interface with CAD-based architecture teams to ensure sensor placement strategies, mounting provisions, and harness routing constraints are reflected in build plans.
• Support hardware ordering for upcoming builds, including sensors, 3D-prints, harnessing, brackets, and fabricated components.
• Coordinate installation sequencing to ensure correct fitment, interface alignment, and version compatibility.
• Maintain detailed revision control for hardware, ensuring each vehicle is built to the correct configuration baseline.
