Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the integration of sensors and compute platforms for next‑gen autonomous vehicles. You will own system strategy, define interfaces, and drive validation across hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in systems engineering for safety‑critical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with embedded/real‑time OS and containerization.
• Strong communication and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to author and maintain system requirements and interface definitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering for core AV platform capabilities from requirements through integration and validation.
• Own system and subsystem level strategy and influence platform‑wide decisions.
• Author and maintain requirements, interface definitions, and technical specifications with clear traceability.
• Lead system and architecture reviews ensuring designs meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and verification teams for cohesive system design.
• Mentor junior engineers and evolve systems engineering practices for autonomous platforms.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
