Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AV Planner to advance planning capabilities for urban autonomous driving. You will develop behavior and trajectory planning for L4 robotaxi scenarios, building modules that safely and efficiently drive in dense urban environments.

Strong C/C++ production code skills and Python tooling are valued, with heavy emphasis on real-time systems, simulation, and multi-domain integration across prediction, perception, mapping, and controls.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in the relevant field.
• Strong software engineering skills in C/C++ (production-quality, performance-aware, testable code). Python experience for tooling/evaluation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ship behavior and trajectory planning for an L4 robotaxi.
• Design planning technologies to build the AV software stack.
• Build optimization-, sampling-, and/or search-based planning approaches with vehicle dynamics.
• Define and implement fallback and degraded-mode behaviors for safety.
• Integrate planning with prediction, perception, mapping/localization, and controls.
• Build and improve offline and closed-loop simulation benchmarks and metrics.
• Define and build tools to accelerate debugging, scenario triage/mining, and evaluation automation.
• Drive integration across different platforms/vehicle types; support on-vehicle issue reproduction and resolution.
• Work on groundbreaking and innovative technology to build a world-class system.
