Job summary

The New York Public Library is seeking a Senior Manager, Audio Visual for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library. You will oversee AV production, coordinate with departments, manage staff, and ensure equipment readiness for events across NYPL branches.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you’ll lead a team of technicians, manage contracts, and advance AV best practices to improve program experiences while aligning with NYPL goals and budgets.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience.
• 7–10 years working in AV settings and event productions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with directing and setting up video/audio for live stream broadcasting/recordings.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software.
• Experience focusing professional lighting for stage lighting.

Responsibilities

• Manage AV equipment inventory, contracts, and scheduled maintenance.
• Train, manage, and schedule a team of AV technicians and aides.
• Coordinate with colleagues on live event production logistics.
• Organize and track accessibility services for programs (captioners/ASL interpreters).
• Provide expert AV consultation to branch staff across NYPL.
