Job summary

IES Holdings is seeking an AV Field Engineer II to troubleshoot complex AV systems, read and apply technical drawings, and perform DSP programming and commissioning for commercial installations. The role blends in-house design work with field execution, including site verifications, IP networking basics, and coordination with project teams.

Ideal candidates will have 2–4 years in AV integration, a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role; test, diagnose, and verify field connections and work quality.
• Understand and use advanced system drawings, specs, and manuals; create shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Understand control system and DSP programming and commissioning; basic programming and setup of DSP, mixers, wireless mics, video and lighting systems.
• Perform basic programming and configuring of AV equipment (DSPs such as Biamp, QSC, BSS, ClearOne).
• Configure Crestron/Extron/AMX, matrix mixers and switchers, and VTC (Cisco/Polycom); commission audio systems.
• Configure IP-addressable devices; have basic data networking knowledge; work in-house and in the field as required.
• Take ownership of project installation; support Field Engineer I and project manager, and assist with punch-lists and project closeout.
