Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Senior AV Field Engineer I to install, operate and commission a range of AV systems. You will work on Crestron, QSYS and Extron platforms with field experience and programming skills.

You will troubleshoot, interpret drawings, create shop drawings, configure IP devices, and own project installations while supporting field staff and coordinating with project managers. This role involves both in-house and field work in Tempe, AZ.

Qualifications

• Crestron, QSYS and Extron certifications or experience are preferred.
• Experience in field systems, programming and commissioning is expected.
• Ability to manipulate control system or DSP programs and upload code for AV gear.
• Experience configuring IP-addressable devices and basic data networking knowledge.
• Ownership of project installation and advanced field support responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose AV equipment in field service roles with strong documentation.
• Interpret system drawings and technical manuals; create shop drawings and submittals.
• Commission audio systems and OTA code updates for AV gear.
• Configure IP devices and support networking for AV installations.
• Own project installation, support field staff, and coordinate with project managers.
• Maintain punch lists and ensure project close-out readiness.
• Oversee technical aspects and IT coordination across projects.
• Pre-quality-checks; test equipment and generate punch lists.
• Assist sales with product demonstrations and system overviews.
• Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
