Job summary

AutoNation Advanced Autonomous Vehicle Technician role seeks an experienced tech to diagnose, calibrate, and repair AV systems. You will work on high‑voltage powertrains, sensor suites, and CAN/LIN networks, collaborating with engineering and field teams to resolve escalations and deploy new hardware.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience as automotive/EV/robotics/AV technician.
• Strong diagnostic experience with mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Hands-on experience with sensor systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) and computer hardware.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with CAN/LIN tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: diagnostics on AV powertrain, braking, suspension, and high-voltage systems.
• CAN/LIN fault diagnosis and repair; validate faults.
• Sensor calibration: LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs; validate alignment and performance.
• AV hardware & software support: install/replace components, assist with software deployments, data extraction and logs.
• Field operations & testing: on-road/closed-course testing, real-time troubleshooting, vehicle recoveries.
• Documentation & continuous improvement: maintain repair logs, identify trends, mentor teammates.
