Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Autonomy Validation Engineer to join our Mossville, IL team. You will validate CfH autonomous workflows, build validation plans, and work across HIL benches, simulations, and field data to improve product performance.

You will develop real-time models, analyze machine data, and help ensure release readiness through rigorous validation, regression testing, and traceability to requirements. This is a full-time onsite role in Mossville with travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Significant experience in validation and systems integration for autonomous systems.
Experience with L8 HIL bench operation and real-time validation platforms.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Validate CfH autonomous workflows using L8 HIL benches, simulations, and real hardware.
Develop and maintain validation scenarios, test cases, and regression tests.
Analyze machine data, logs, and signals to identify performance gaps.
Use results to inform development and improve validation coverage.
Support simulation capabilities using real machine data to improve fidelity.
Develop real-time models for machine dynamics and sensor interfaces in MATLAB/Simulink.
Configure and troubleshoot dSPACE SCALEXIO benches including deployment and test execution.
Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements to validation evidence.
