Shield AI in San Diego is seeking an experienced Systems Integration Engineer to advance our Hivemind autonomy stack. You will integrate multi‑agent systems, sensor interfaces, and flight platforms, driving end‑to‑end integration from simulation to hardware deployment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in CS/Comp Eng/Robotics; or 6 years with a master’s; or 4 years with a PhD.
• Proficient in Python and/or C++.
• Experience with autonomous systems, server applications, or middleware.
• Designing integration workflows across subsystem boundaries and triaging defects.
• Proficiency with simulation tools and HIL testing environments.
• Strong CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Excellent problem‑solving and ability to deliver high‑quality software.
• Strong communication and cross‑team collaboration skills.
• Experience building complex systems with sound software architecture.
• Experience with hardware or embedded systems.
• Expert knowledge of Python and ROS.
• Experience with white‑box testing.
• Familiarity with networking, operating systems, and radio communications.
• Experience designing automated tooling for testing GUI/server applications.

Responsibilities

• Become a systems integration expert for autonomous robotics and the autonomy stack.
• Configure, deploy, and integrate multi‑agent systems across simulation, HIL, and flight platforms.
• Understand the end‑to‑end system from sensors to autonomous behaviors.
• Integrate new capabilities into the autonomy stack and ensure interoperability between components.
• Lead the integration of autonomy software onto new robotic hardware platforms.
• Configure sensors, interfaces, and platform adapters for full autonomy stack functionality.
• Develop integration tooling, deployment scripts, and configuration management for SIL/HIL/flight environments.
• Collaborate to ensure cross‑platform compatibility and resolve inter‑ subsystem issues.
• Analyze system logs and telemetry to diagnose defects and drive resolution.
• Improve integration workflows and CI/CD pipelines for faster releases.
• Verify end‑to‑end requirements and interface contracts with tooling.
