Job summary

Amazon Robotics in North Reading, MA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the perception and localization team. You will help build onboard mapping, perception, motion planning and control software for Proteus, Amazon’s autonomous warehouse robot.

You will collaborate on sensor fusion, SLAM across fleets, and ML for robotic perception and localization, while optimizing performance on embedded hardware and enabling large-scale data replay and analysis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack.
• Developing sensor fusion techniques for obstacle detection and localization.
• Developing SLAM shared across a robot fleet.
• Developing ML capabilities for robotic perception and localization.
• Optimizing runtime performance on embedded hardware.
• Building frameworks for replay and analysis of pre-recorded sensor data.
• Monitoring and managing resources on embedded compute platform.
• Building visualization tools for analyzing and debugging robot behavior.
