Job summary

Gather AI is seeking a Staff Autonomy Engineer to own the core autonomy software stack for MHE Vision. You will lead perception, localization, and scanning pipelines on vehicle-mounted hardware in production warehouses, collaborating with hardware, field deployments, and ML teams to ensure reliability.

You will shape architecture, drive end-to-end ownership, and tackle challenging edge cases to improve inventory data accuracy and system robustness in real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years software engineering, 3+ years autonomy/robotics on real hardware.
• Strong C++ and Python for embedded compute platforms.
• Hands-on CV pipelines, camera-based detection, localization or tracking.
• Experience deploying software on field hardware with logging and iteration.
• Comfort at Staff level: set direction and own end-to-end systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the autonomy software stack for MHE Vision on vehicle-mounted hardware.
• Architect and implement perception, localization, and inventory scanning pipelines.
• Coordinate with hardware, field, and ML teams to deploy reliable software.
• Improve scan accuracy via sensor fusion and ML perception model integration.
