Job summary

Lumicity, a robotics startup in Gainesville, FL, is expanding its autonomy engineering team. We seek a Senior Autonomy Engineer to own core autonomy software—from navigation and perception to deployment and debugging.

This hands-on role involves building and deploying physical robotic systems with a small, experienced team. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in robotics/software, strong C++ and ROS2 experience, and a track record deploying AMRs/AGVs into production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous systems software engineering.
• Proven experience deploying AMRs/AGVs into production.
• Strong C++ and ROS2 experience.
• SLAM, localization and path planning.
• LiDAR, cameras and sensor integration.
• Hands-on robot debugging and fault recovery.

Partnered with a fast-growing robotics startup developing next-generation autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) designed to operate safely and reliably in complex, real-world environments. The company has successfully deployed its technology into real-world environments and is now scaling its autonomy engineering team as it moves toward broader commercial deployment.

They are looking for a Senior Autonomy Engineer who can take ownership of core autonomy software, from navigation and perception through to deployment, debugging and long-term reliability. This is a highly hands-on opportunity to build and deploy physical robotic systems, working closely with a small, experienced engineering team.
