Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a Senior Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles per MAP guidelines and dealer standards. You will work with a seasoned team to handle multiple repairs with efficiency and accuracy.

The role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on experience and compensation ranging from $70,000 to $95,000 per year. ASE certifications are valued and opportunities for advancement exist.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience required.
• ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals such as the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services necessary to keep the vehicle running; documents all recommendations in the customer file.
• Follows safety procedures and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Adheres to company policies; works flexible schedules including Saturdays.
