Job summary
The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking a Technician in Alabama to diagnose and repair brakes, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment while delivering a top‑notch customer experience. You will train teammates, stay updated on automotive tech, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid driver's license; ability to work varied shifts and pass a background check is
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
- 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
- Section 609 certification preferred.
- State Inspection license if applicable.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
- Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
- Perform maintenance services and assist fellow technicians as needed.
- Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers or coworkers clearly.
- Maintain an organized, safe shop and stay current with automotive technology.
