Job summary

Auto Plus in Birmingham, AL seeks an Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses to customers, continuously learn new techniques, and mentor co-workers while maintaining a clean, safe shop environment. Requires at least 1 year of automotive repair experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform duties of lower roles (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (employees and customers).
• Continuously learn new techniques in formal training to stay updated with automotive tech.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
