Job description

Under general supervision, this position leads, plans, schedules, and oversees the work of Automotive Technicians and Fleet Service Workers. The role involves performing the same or more complex duties, ensuring tasks are completed according to policies and procedures, communicating expectations, and providing staff training.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Four years of full-time paid experience diagnosing malfunctions and repairing and maintaining gasoline, diesel, or alternatively powered vehicles such as automobiles, light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, buses, or construction equipment.
2. Coursework from an accredited college, vocational training school, or military training program in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Maintenance Equipment Repair, or Construction Equipment Repair, or a closely related field, may substitute for up to two years of the required experience. Typically, 2.5 semester (3.75 quarter) units equal one month of experience.
3. Note: 'Experience' refers to full-time paid experience unless otherwise specified. Part-time paid experience can be pro-rated to meet requirements.
