Job summary

McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our service team. We look for a skilled, dependable technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and is confident diagnosing and repairing today’s vehicles.

If you have at least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience and want to continue developing your skills with an established dealership, we want to hear from you. Acura or Honda experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Journeyman-level automotive repair experience preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, test, and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle issues.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs involving engines, transmissions, drivability, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Complete comprehensive multi-point vehicle inspections.
• Identify needed repairs and clearly communicate recommendations to service advisors.
• Perform repairs and maintenance according to Acura manufacturer standards, dealership policies, and safety procedures.
• Accurately document completed work and repair orders.
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, efficiency, and productivity.
• Mentor and assist apprentice and entry-level technicians as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with service advisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Stay current on Acura technology, factory training, and ASE certifications.
