About the Role

Our client, a well-established automotive manufacturing and supply chain company located in Welkom , Free State, is seeking to appoint a highly organized and experienced Senior Automotive Project Manager . This critical role involves overseeing the successful execution of automotive development projects from inception through to completion. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in driving innovation and efficiency within the company's product development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage automotive development projects, defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management. Coordinate and collaborate with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Track project progress and provide regular status reports to senior management. Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements. Facilitate project meetings, including kick-off, progress reviews, and closure sessions. Manage project documentation and ensure proper record-keeping. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the automotive industry. Proven track record of successfully managing complex automotive projects. Strong understanding of automotive product development cycles and manufacturing processes. Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana). Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage competing priorities. Experience with risk management and change control processes. Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO/TS 16949) is advantageous.
