Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Lead Project Manager Engineering - Automotive at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will lead the largest and most complex engineering projects, developing and executing project plans and reporting status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline plus 9+ years of PM experience or equivalent
• Proven strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Track record leading complex product development or major concept projects with multiple modules
• Team-oriented, positive attitude, ability to work with others
• Excellent time management and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions with high quality
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead the largest and most complex engineering projects spanning multiple modules
• Develop and execute project plans, report status and drive projects to closure
• Mentor less-experienced Project Managers and share PM best practices
• Identify cross-organizational process improvements and implement them
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, outlining scope, schedule and cost
• Manage risks, create mitigation plans and inform management
• Serve as a role model for effective and efficient team meetings
• Ensure adherence to project objectives and develop standards for diverse engineering activities
• Act as single point of contact for project needs and relate dependencies across teams
