Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Process Engineer to join a leading automotive innovator. This fully remote role lets you influence manufacturing processes across stamping, welding, assembly, and painting from your home office in the United States.

You'll analyze processes, design new methods, document workflows, and lead cross-functional teams virtually. Fluency in English and Spanish, 7+ years in automotive process engineering, and strong SPC/lean skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of automotive process engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of stamping, welding, assembly, painting.
• Proficiency in SPC and lean manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and simulation tools.
• Strong analytical and data-driven problem solving.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams virtually.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing automotive processes to boost efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Design and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Create process docs: PFDs, P&IDs, work instructions, control plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams in process validation (PPAP, FMEA).
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues using root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and production for manufacturability.
• Stay updated on new automotive manufacturing technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct virtual process audits and propose corrective actions.
• Optimize material flow and plant layout for efficiency.
