Job summary

Toyoda Gosei North America, headquartered in Troy, MI, is seeking a Senior Product Engineer for the Interior/Exterior Plastics Engineering group to drive product development from concept to SOP across TGNA and its manufacturing affiliates.

The candidate will create APQP, engineer documents, perform design evaluations, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure robust, cost-effective plastic components for automotive interiors and exteriors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 4–8 years of engineering experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese required.

Responsibilities

• Create APQP and engineering documents; support design from concept to SOP.
• Negotiate with customers on design requirements; ensure manufacturability and profitability.
• Provide design proposals for interior/exterior plastic parts using 2D & 3D tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve component issues.
