Job summary

Opus IVS is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to help develop state-of-the-art vehicle diagnostic equipment and communication devices. You will collaborate with multiple technology teams to deliver world-class diagnostic tools tailored to customer needs.

The role emphasizes embedded hardware development, C/C++/C# software, and testing across PC and vehicle interfaces. Strong focus on EMC/EMI compliance and automotive protocols will be essential.

Qualifications

• BS in hardware engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years hardware design/development experience.
• Experience with ARM processors.
• Strong understanding of EMC/EMI compliance.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and C# programming languages.
• Ability to debug electronic circuits and solder SMT components.
• Knowledge of OBD and automotive diagnostic protocols.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded automotive diagnostic pass-thru products (PC boards and firmware).
• Build diagnostic systems including PC hardware, vehicle communication hardware, and battery management hardware.
• Develop new products, features and improve quality of hardware, firmware and software.
• Improve code quality via unit tests, automation and code reviews.
• Design and develop product and protocol validation tests.
• Build product tools using C, C++, and C#.
• Test new designs and troubleshoot issues.
• Create test systems and test suites for new products.
• Interface with customers to gather performance feedback.
