Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and advance serviceability for IVI and Vehicle Compute Unit platforms. You will debug field issues, drive root causes from warranty data, and implement diagnosability features across middleware, diagnostics, and dealer workflows.

You will lead cross‑team investigations, design health monitoring, and contribute to AI‑assisted diagnostics while collaborating with dealer support and field quality teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in automotive or embedded systems.
• Strong C++ skills in resource-constrained, real-time environments; Python for tooling.
• Experience with automotive middleware and diagnostics, and field issue triage.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep technical debugging of IVI/VCU issues seen in the field.
• Devise reproducible bench setups and automated test cases for field issues.
• Analyze warranty reports, logs, and telemetry for systemic issues.
• Design diagnosability and serviceability features in IVI/VCU stack.
• Collaborate to improve diagnostics UIs and repair guidance.
• Build automation and AI-assisted diagnostics for fault isolation.
