Job summary

Automotive Equipment Mechanic II – Director of Operations / District Maintenance / South Dade Shop is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other major components in automobiles and heavy equipment. Field tests and preventive maintenance are required, with responses to emergency road service calls.

Qualifications

• Possess knowledge of diagnosing and repairing automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Familiar with diagnostic equipment and repair manuals.
• Understand waste generation, storage, and disposal rules.
• Capable of following purchasing rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, overhaul and replace gasoline or diesel engines and major components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency road service calls.
• Repair tires, welding, painting and body work as needed.
• Document work performed on work orders and track time charges.
